Becoming A Woman of Influence

I did not find "Becoming A Woman of Influence" by Carol Kent to be among my favorite books that I have read. This book discusses and teaches women how to be able to impact the lives of other women. It encourages and helps pave the way for women to become mentors to other women, especially younger women. While I do agree with the author's words on this topic, I had a very hard time with her delivery. Unfortunately, I felt that Carol Kent came across as "uppity" and all-knowing in the way she delivered her message. I found it very difficult to read through this book and stay focused because of this fact. I do wonder if an older woman would appreciate this book more than myself. I will state again though, that I do agree with her message. I believe that we all are to strive to become mentors to one another. I think Carol Kent is Biblically sound in encouraging women to become mentors and essentially become Titus 2 women. I just would have liked it if I felt more of a humbleness from the author. I received this complimentary book from NavPress and have not received money to provide this review.
