Fired Up

"Fired Up Trouble In Texas" (book 2) by Mary Connealy was a fun read. We get to know Dare Riker, a "doctor" in the town where Glynna Greer now lives. Glynna is a twice-widowed mother of two children. She has faced some extreme hardships in her life.

Glynna decides to open up a diner so that she is able to support her and her children. The first day her diner opened, it was discovered that Glynna was a terrible cook! The men in town would still come to eat at the diner though because they loved just getting a view of the beautiful Glynna in this limited of women town.

Dare feels a pull toward Glynna and feels the need to help and protect her. Dare is dealing with his own insecurities as a doctor. He keeps saying that he is going to quit and become a rancher, but it seems that every time a doctor is needed, Dare runs to help. He cannot help himself.

I found this read to be light and easy, yet interesting. There was someone out to kill Dare and the author kept me guessing as to who it was. This was one of those books where I was disappointed it was over!

Beyond Molasses Creek

I began to believe that I would be disappointed by Beyond Molasses Creek when I first began reading it. It was tough for me to get connected to the characters at first. However, by Chapter 5, I was hooked. The characters began to feel real to me. What I liked best about this book was the element of surprise. It's hard to find a book that is not predictable. Nicole Seitz sprang some surprises on her readers. Ally has had a lot of ups and downs in her life. I thought she was a bit self-centered. Vesey was a good display of what a good Christian man and friend should be. I found myself wishing to read a sequel. I received this book from Booksneeze complimentary. I have not been paid for this review.

When Sparrows Fall

I finished this book within a 24 hour period. I could not put it down. I was able to relate to the main character Miranda Hanford in many ways. This book follows her journey of finding what true freedom in Christ really is. She encountered so many different emotions, but grew through them all. Jack, her brother-in-law of her late husband enters the lives of Miranda and her children and helps them to spread their wings and soar.

Ultra-conservative Christians would probably not enjoy this read. They may find it offensive to their sensibilities. I personally know so many people that would enjoy this book.

A Cowboy's Touch

I couldn't book this book down! "A Cowboy's Touch" by Denise Hunter is a must read. Abigail Jones has been ordered some down-time by her doctor. She goes to Montana to "visit" her great-Aunt Lucy. The visit was not just for some R&R, but for Abigail to also check on her Aunt Lucy.

Maddy, a 10 year old little girl, comes into Abigail's life very soon after Abigail's arrival in Montana. This little girl is so precious. She and Abigail form a special bond. Maddy's father has been through some very hard and painful times. Abigail breaks through his barriers and allows him to feel again.

"A Cowboy's Touch" is your typical Christian Romance book. It brought me enjoyment reading it. I read it within a 24 hour period.
